OUR LOCATION

Millrace Cohousing is located on just over 2 1/2 acres in the historic Shanklin Millrace Neighborhood of Goshen, Indiana. The property is situated east of the city park along the hydraulic canal. The canal side of the property is lined with trees and a footbridge provides easy access across the waterway to the Millrace Canal Trail. Our community is just a 5-10 minute walk from the public library, Farmer's Market, city playground, restaurants, a brewery, a co-op grocery story, pharmacy, bank, downtown shopping and biking/hiking trails. 

 

Goshen, with a population of 34,800 (2020 Census) has the charm of a small town with the activities, entertainment and opportunities of a larger city. The city is home to Goshen College, a private liberal arts college affiliated with Mennonite Church USA. The Good of Goshen is experienced during First Fridays, among the vibrant art community, while biking along The Pumpkinvine Trail, in the rich student diversity of Goshen Schools and when eating at the multitude of local taquerias. 

The Elkhart County 4-H Fair is held annually in Goshen and is one of the largest county fairs in the country. The Elkhart County Fairgrounds hosts a variety of events year round including the Michiana Mennonite Relief Sale.

 

Goshen is the county seat of Elkhart County which is the hub of the RV manufacturing industry. Nearby attractions include Notre Dame University, Winona Lake, Shipshewana, the RV Hall of Fame, the Quilt Gardens and southern Michigan wine trails.
